Time to Care This week's blog is going to be a bit different. So many things are happening in the mid-east (and in this country) that the main-stream news (a/k/a lame-stream news or Pravda news) are not reporting. Before I get too carried away with slamming what they are reporting, let me just share some links with you. To learn more about what is really happening in Israel, go to http://blogs.timesofisrael.com/a-blind-spot-for-sheer-evil/ To see the real danger of our non-existent southern border, go to http://allenbwest.com/2014/08/nightmare-border-isis-mexican-cartels-teaming/#bWfk2uDsLLtT2mZ8.01 To learn about what is happening to Christians (and to those who help them) in Iraq and other predominantly Muslim counties, go to any or all of the following:
There are other sites, and there are other organizations which are helping the persecuted people of the world. We know that persecution will happen as long as humans exist, because it is in human nature (the old creation of unredeemed humans) to do such things, especially when inspired and empowered by the devil, who comes to steal, kill, and destroy. But there is One who is greater than the devil and greater than human nature: the Triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Jesus came to redeem the fallen human race, and anyone who believes in Him is redeemed by grace through faith. Death, especially martyrdom, is simply stepping into the presence of the Lord. Life lived for Him brings glory to Him and provides an opportunity to share the good news of salvation. We can rejoice knowing that there is a time coming when the world will experience a REAL change—one made by the appearance of Israel's Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ. He will come after the tribulation to set up the Millennial Kingdom of Israel, and Israel will then nationally receive Him and rule the nations as the head, not the tail. Speaking prophetically of Yeshua, King of Kings, God's word declares, "Yea, all kings shall fall down before Him; all nations shall serve Him. For He shall save the needy who cries, and the poor with no helper. He shall have pity on the poor and needy; and He saves the souls of the needy ones. He shall redeem their souls from oppression and violence; and their blood shall be precious in His eyes. [. . . ] His name shall be forever; His name shall continue before the sun, and they shall bless themselves by Him; all nations shall call Him blessed. Blessed is Jehovah God, the God of Israel, who alone does wonderful things. And blessed is His glorious name forever; and all the earth is filled with His glory! Amen and amen!"—Psalm 72: 11-14, 17-19. Pravda was the name of the government-run newspaper in Moscow in the days of the U.S.S.R. (United Soviet Socialist Republic) and the cold war--before the “iron curtain” came down. It had been the official voice of the communist party; it still serves as the mouthpiece for the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. “Pravda” means “truth.” Do you find that ironic?
